How many PDHs are required for professional engineers in Florida?

Engineers in Florida are required to complete 18 PDHs including:

• 1 PDH relating to professional ethics
• 4 PDH relating to the licensee's area of practice
• 13 PDH of electives

When do Florida engineers renew their license?

Engineers in Florida renew on February 28th of odd-numbered years (2019, 2021, 2023, etc).

Do your engineering courses qualify for credit with the state of Florida?

No, we are currently awaiting approval from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers.

What content is approved for PDHs in Florida?

Technical, managerial, and ethical content that is relevant to the practice of engineering is approved as continuing education for engineers in Florida. Marketing, foreign language skills, and basic math skills are not accepted.

I have extra Florida engineer PDHs, do they carry over?

No, the Florida Board of Professional Engineers does not allow credits to be carried into the next renewal period.

Who stores my engineering continuing education records?

Technically each engineer is responsible for keeping track and submitting their own certificates, BUT WE STORE ALL CERTIFICATES INDEFINITELY and they can always be accessed for free. PDH completion records must be maintained for a minimum of 4 years.

Are internet courses approved for Florida engineer PDHs?

Yes, internet courses are approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers to meet all PDH requirements.
